Westview terminal for an incredible journey Northward
on the Straits of Georgia onboard our 30 foot Wellcraft
Scarab into Desolation Sound Marine Park and beyond.
We will stop a short distance up the Coast to view
the `HULKS`, WWII concrete ships that act as a breakwater
for the Powell River sawmill at the mouth of Powell
River.

This
Desolation Sound Discovery Tour then travels past
a First Nations Reserve as we explain the origins
of these Peoples that have lived on the West
Coast of British Columbia for thousands of years.
Coast Salish First Nations People have a rich and
colorful culture that is worth the listen. Travel
west toward Harwood Island, a sacred island owned
by the Coast Salish People. We will then stop and
view the picturesque sand spit at the northern tip
of this island. Resume your adventure north to Savary
Island. Relax and view this tropical
island paradise called `The Misplaced Caribbean
Island` by Captain George Vancouver in 1792.
Journey northward through the Copeland Islands Marine
Park and pass by the tiny islands that dot the coastline.
Travel further north up Lewis Channel to Teakerne
Arm, stopping to view the beautiful 90 foot Cassel
Falls. We then head South on Lewis Channel stopping
at various other incredible points of interest before
heading back to the Westview Harbour where you will
end this unforgettable journey into Coastal British
Columbia.
All scheduled departures
are from the Government dock in Westview at Powell
River, British Columbia, unless pre-arranged 48
hours prior to departure. Departures from other
areas of Vancouver Island and Coastal British Columbia
can be arranged for an additional charge.
