30 ft Wellcraft Scarab high speed passenger boat

Our certified guides are natives of British Columbia who have been traveling the waters of Georgia and Johnston Strait for over 25 years. Our guide will share with you the local history of the Coast Salish First Nations people and stories of the first European explorers, such as Captain George Vancouver, who visited these waters in the 1700‘s. Our guides are knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna and are certified boat operators who hold Marine Emergency Duties level 1& 2.

Onboard Safety
Feel safe with us as our 30foot Wellcraft Scarab provides the utmost in safety for our guests, while providing them access to this rarely explored wilderness. The Scarab has one of the highest safety ratings of all high speed passenger boats. Our vessel was originally used by the Coast Guard Rescue Auxiliary Society off the southern west coast of Vancouver Island.

Environmental Concerns
Desolation Sound Boat Tours is an environmentally conscious company that uses the most up to date equipment available. Our outboard motors are all current year models with low exhaust emissions providing reliability and safety. We meet or exceed all safety and environmental regulations set forth by the provincial and federal governments. We offer to our guests the intimacy of a 12-passenger vessel allowing us to venture into remote areas otherwise inaccessible.

Smaller tour groups such as ours less adversely impacts our wilderness environment. Our tours allow guests an up close and personal view of wildlife from a respectable distance thus keeping wildlife wild!
